This composition started as one ashaar for 'sabse chota sher" and grew to be a full composition.
------
Neend kyun nahin aati
Koi to paas rahe
Raat khush ho-le magar
Ghadi bhar udaas rahe
Bhookh se main thak gaya
Ab zara upwaas rahe
Soorat bhool gaya sa main
rekhayein talaash rahe
tum bulao phir ek baar
aise mere ardaas rahe
Paaon ulajh gaye to kya
raste kyun hataash rahe
but badla, but-parasti badli
Phool to palaash rahe*
*In hindu mythology, Palaash was a discarded flower till shiva asked his devotees to offer it to him (with bel-patra) each time they prey. I am using this metaphor here to signify changes in love and am urging not to change the paraphrenelia even if basic players have changed.
